Jaipur, often called the "Pink City", is the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan and one of the most iconic tourist destinations in India. Jaipur was established in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, a ruler known for his interest in mathematics, astronomy, and urban planning. It was one of India's first planned cities, designed by architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya using Vastu Shastra and Shilpa Shastra principles (traditional Indian architecture manuals).

4. Jantar Mantar
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest and best-preserved astronomical observatories in the world. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who was a scholar of astronomy, it houses a collection of 19 large instruments, including the world's largest stone sundial.
5. Jal Mahal (Water Palace)
A beautiful low-rise palace that appears to float in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake, making it a picturesque sight.
6. Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds)
Arguably the most iconic landmark of the city, this five-story palace was built in 1799. Its unique honeycomb-like facade has 953 small windows (jharokhas), which allowed the royal ladies to observe the bustling street life below without being seen themselves.
7. Birla Mandir, Jaipur
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayan) and his consort Goddess Lakshmi, this modern temple is often referred to as the Laxmi Narayan Temple. It is part of a series of grand temples built by the wealthy Birla family across India.
